BDG seems to describe the situation correctly though what is one to think when I see a female answer that it totally works. I mean, negging is sort of common sense to a point. A little teasing and joking around with a dry sense of humour will get a conversation going, which is the entire point. However, it shouldn’t be too insulting and hurtful, but in the example given, the guy was mocking the bar, not the girl (at least in his last sentence). She should have a witty comeback ready. If she was interested (and interesting) she would have a good comeback for that.

That’s a lot of girls these days, especially in their 30s. The first date is supposed to be the get-to-know-each other first phase of the relationship, what used to be a month. The second date they want a sperm sample. By the third, you’re supposed to be a couple and ready for marriage. I know you’re getting desperate for kids but as said above, you can’t just compress several months or a year into a month or a few dates. That’s the craziness that’s out there!
